Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom welcome baby GIRL

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have announced the birth of their daughter, named Daisy Dove Bloom.

The announcement was shared by UNICEF, a charity supporting disadvantaged children, for which Perry and Bloom are both ambassadors.

A black and white image has been released where the couple are seen holding the newborns hand – with Perry sporting daisy painted finger nails.

A statement from the couple was released by UNICEF on August, 27 which has been reposted by both Perry and Bloom, it says: “We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter.

“But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was.

“Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every 11 seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes.

“Since Covid-19, many more newborn lives are at risk because of a greater lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathise with struggling parents now more than ever.”

“We hope your heart can bloom with generosity.”

The couple have set up a donation page to mark Daisy’s birth, with the money going towards new mothers and their children.

Katy Perry revealed her pregnancy earlier this year in her music video for Never Worn White, by revealing her baby bump in the final seconds of the video.

The lyrics to Never Worn White hint that Perry and Bloom may soon be walking down the isle, as the couple got engaged on Valentines Day last year.

Katy Perry’s new album SMILE is now available to stream, download and purchase.
