Little Mix: The Search praised by fans for adding their own twist to TV talent shows

A refreshing new take on TV talent shows, Little Mix: The Search kicked off last night (September 26) hoping to find the next big act in the music industry to support them on their 2021, Confetti Tour. Band members Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson are both judges and mentors to the new generation of wannabe stars.

Viewers were amazed by the show, which was pre-recorded back in February before the COVID-19 lockdown.

Fans went to social media to praise Little Mix for adding their own twist to TV talent shows by showcasing their personalities and adding a personal touch to the show.

The first episode tackled boybands – and there was some flirting going on between the members of Little Mix and the male contestants. Many fans went to social media to point out the gestures that ranged from winks while performing to complimenting the girls on their beauty.

After some amazing solo performances in front of Little Mix, the girls voted for their favourites to go through to the Band Room. After the first round of auditions, 10 hopefuls were whittled down to seven after having to perform as a group.

Finally, they had to perform in front of a live audience, before the final five boys were selected – Adam, Zeekay, Talis, Lee and Kaci all made the cut and are officially the first band ready to battle for the prize of joining Little Mix on their 2021 tour.

Each episode will follow a similar format as Little Mix search for five more music acts: girl dance, mixed, instruments, rap R&B and girl vocal.

Little Mix: The Search continues Sunday, September 27 at 6:45pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
