In the fifth episode of The Search, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson and Jade Thirlwall continued their hunt for the next big band in the music industry.
After becoming the first group ever to win The X-Factor in 2011 and thus far securing four number one singles in the UK, Little Mix will be mentoring groups they have put together from solo singers who have auditioned for the show.
Last night (October 10) the record breaking girlband looked for a “mini” version of themselves – a girlband who can sing and dance – and threw a spanner into the works moments before they revealed the final line-up.
Competition was tough during the audition round as Little Mix knew exactly what kind of group they wanted to put together, which lead to some hard decisions with nine girls making it through to The Band Room.
Those nine battled it out in rehearsals in a dance and vocal challenge, where two were sent home.
The final seven then had to face the live crowd with a song and dance routine where Little Mix would make the decision on who would make the final cut.
A hush fell over the crowd moments before they revealed the finalists making up the girlband as Perrie announced: “We’ve changed our minds.”
However, the news was positive, as the group they initially picked during deliberation included four of the seven girls, but they decided to change the line-up to five.
Little Mix then proceeded to shout out the names of the contestants who made it into the band – Megan, Ellie, Liv, Aisli and Lauren.
Jade said: “I feel really emotional, we are so excited to work with you girls.”
Jesy continued: “Congrats girls you are our new girl dance group.’
With only one more group left to put together – Rap R&B – The Search edges closer to the live shows we’re we will get to see all six groups battle it out for a place on Little Mix’s 2021 tour.
Little Mix: The Search continues on Sunday, October 11 at 6.45pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
