Little Mix have been selected to host the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards for the first time on Sunday, November 8 which will take place across “multiple locations” around Europe due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne and Pinnock made the announcement on their Instagram page on Tuesday (October 20) with an animated video of them as superheroes responding to an MTV signal in the sky.
Little Mix will also bring with them an exclusive performance of “Sweet Melody” from their upcoming album, Confetti – which is expected to be released two days before the event on Friday, November 6, having already released two songs “Happiness” and “Not A Pop Song”, alongside the singles “Break Up Song” and “Holiday”.
The event looks to be a good night for the girlband, as they have received four EMA nominations for best pop alongside BTS, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.
As well as best group, best virtual live for UNCancelled and a Best UK & Ireland Act.
Last year they walked away with their fourth EMA for best UK & Ireland Act at the 2019 ceremony in Seville, Spain.
The MTV EMAs 2020 will take place on Sunday, November 8.
