We caught up with Amy from Blossom Card Designs.
Tell us a bit about yourself
My name is Amy, I’m 26 years old and I created my business, Blossom Card Designs, about three years ago. I’m based in Guisborough in the North East.
When did you get into crafts?
I’ve always been interested in crafts for as long as I can remember! I used to spend my summer holidays with my Gran, making things, painting and drawing. I enjoyed studying art through secondary school and college, and now I love doing it as my part time hobby!
When did you start your business and why?
I started Blossom Card Designs around three years ago, after quitting my part time job in hospitality. I wanted to spend more time doing the things which I enjoyed, rather than working late nights. I’m really lucky to still be supported by my lovely customers, three years later.
How has lockdown affected your business?
Lockdown has actually really helped me to connect with more customers, both new and old. As I offer a delivery service across the UK, customers can order any of my handmade personalised greetings cards and I posted them out. I’ve tried to keep people connected by writing their messages and sending them on their behalf too.
I hope people have appreciated the personalised delivery service. Having more time at home during lockdown has also let me spend more time create new designs, something I don’t always have regular time to do! So it’s actually been a really good thing.
What do you love most about art?
I love creating something unique every time, which people can’t buy anywhere else!
How can Style-and-Wear readers support you?
I’d love it if your readers could give my Instagram or Facebook pages a like and a share. I really appreciate people’s feedback too on my designs.
