Bake Off and Little Mix fans will be thrilled to know the lovely Jade Thirlwall will be taking to the tent for charity.
The South Shields singer took to the official Little Mix instagram account to announce the news on January 28. She said: “SO excited to be taking part in @britishbakeoff for @su2cuk. And I know what you’re all thinking – it’s nice that they let a professional chef take part after Served! but I promise I won’t show everyone up TOO much.”
It seems it’s not just amazing looks and songs she’ll be “serving” this year. ‘Served! With Jade Thirwall,’ also simply called Served!, is a six-episode web series hosted by MTV. The series consists of Jade Thirlwall interviewing drag queens and competing against them in cook-offs. But will she be able to withstand the pressure in the tent? We can’t wait to find out.
Jade had us in fits of laughter early in lockdown when she embraced her inner Prue Leith while self-isolating with her two flatmates and whipped up a “penis pie” – yes, you read that right.
In 2018, bake off contestant turned Junior Bake Off presenter, Liam Charles, announced that Jade Thirlwall from Little Mix asked him to make a cake for her 25th birthday. He was in a uni lecture when he got the message. She got a beautiful three-tier cake. The bottom was rainbow ombré, the middle was chocolate caramel and the top was lemon curd and white chocolate. But can she create something just as spectacular?
The Great Stand Up To Cancer Bake Off returns this Spring on Channel 4. Jade will join Anne-Marie, Alexandra Burke, Nadine Coyle, Stacey Dooley, Nick Grimshaw, Dame Kelly Holmes, KSI, James Mcavoy, Ade Adepitan MBE, Tom Allen, David Baddiel, Rob Beckett, John Bishop, Philippa Perry, Dizzee Rascal, Anneka Rice, Daisy Ridley, Katherine Ryan and Reece Shearsmith in this year’s series.
