Review: The Body Shop’s Juicy Strawberry Valentine’s Love Heart

It’s Valentine’s Day, and this gorgeous gift set from The Body Shop could be the perfect last minute buy. Here’s what we thought when we tried it

With a refreshing shower gel, body butter and sweetly-scented lip butter, all sealed inside a super-cute, heart-shaped box, this is a seriously sweet gift. They’re even made with cold-pressed strawberry seed oil from leftover jam making – yum (but please don’t try and eat them, no matter how good they smell).

Strawberry Shower Gel

We love:
It’s actually a gel and not runny.
It’s an amazing colour in the bottle.
A good lather/foam is created when used in the shower without being too bubbly.
It cleanses the skin leaving it nicely scented (and the scent actually lasts for a few hours after the product has been washed away).

We’d change:
We’d love for it to smell a little stronger.

Strawberry Body Butter

We love:
It’s by far the best smelling of the three – so fruity.
It’s vegetarian-friendly.
It leaves your body so soft and it’s easy to blend into the skin after a shower.
It’s a lush pink colour.
It’s enriched with Community Fair Trade shea butter from Ghana.

We’d change:
We’d love if it was a bit more of a buttery texture rather than moussey.

Strawberry Lip Butter

We love:
It nourishes and softens lips leaving them a little shiny and smelling great.
The crystals instantly melt when you rub the product so you can apply it easily – no one likes a dry lip butter.

We’d change:
We’d love if it was in a tube rather than a tub for better hygiene (and to stop it getting stuck in our nails).

Faye’s Final Thoughts: I’m overall in love with all of these products and they smell amazing. The box is also really cute and recyclable. However, when it arrived, although the main parcel box was recyclable, polysterene balls were inside which I believe are much harder to recycle. I’d maybe suggest using corrugated cardboard or another alternative in the future.
