Waitrose Cellar has introduced a limited edition mixed wine case in celebration of International Women’s Day.
Available online now, the case (£53 for 6 bottles or £106 for 12), contains six wines made by women – including the Waitrose Blueprint Provence Rosé and Yalumba Organic Shiraz from Australia.
Xenia Ruscombe-King MW, Waitrose Cellar buyer said: “We wanted to do something special to commemorate International Women’s Day and a case of excellent wine made by female winemakers seemed like the perfect choice. The case includes a wine range of styles of wine from across the globe and is a celebration of the achievements of women in wine, which we are sure our customers will love.”

We take a closer look at what’s in the case…
Waitrose Blueprint Côtes de Provence Rosé
Winemaker: Samantha Bailey
This classic pale rosé has summer pudding flavours and beautiful elegant freshness. It’s made from Grenache and Cinsault grapes, grown in sunny Provence – an ideal pairing with grilled fish, spicy foods or salad Niçoise.
Winemaker: María Larrea
Rich, smooth and elegant, it’s full of silky, fresh and juicy red berry flavours on a softness of elegant and integrated oak that bring notes of mocha and baking spices in harmonious balance with the fruit.
Winemaker: Louisa Rose
Yalumba is among Australia’s oldest family-owned wine producers and dedicated to working sustainably. This smooth, ripe, unfined Shiraz spends a couple of months in new American oak hogshead casks from the family’s cooperage.
Bosman Nature & Sun Organic Grenache Noir
Winemaker: Corlea Fouri
The stunning result of the vineyard’s approach to organic winemaking: tradition, science and a better life for all. In colder months try it with bangers and mash, but on a hot summer’s day serve it chilled with Parma ham and rocket pizza.
Winemaker: Trizanne Barnard
The beautiful mineral notes from the Grenache Blanc compliment the scents of fresh flowers, peaches and herbs of the Roussanne, while the Marsanne gives a lovely texture, depth and palate weight to the wine.
Dourthe Roqueblanche Sauvignon Blanc
Winemaker: Veronique Razimbaud
Cooler-climate Sauvignon Blanc with slightly herbaceous notes of blackcurrant and gooseberries. The fine weight of fruit is perfectly balanced by a crisp finish, which makes this very easy to drink. Great with seafood or quiche.
