It’s Spring and nothing feels quite as satisfying as coming home to a clean house. However, spring cleaning can be overwhelming — especially when you can’t find the time.
This year, many of us find ourselves in a situation where we have more time on our hands than usual, and actually have time for those household chores that normally get neglected. But, for those who find themselves back at work, and have limited time — because let’s be honest we don’t really want our weekends consumed by cleaning — we have a few tips to help you along.

1. CLEAN ROOM BY ROOM
When it comes to cleaning, approaching the task room by room is the most efficient way. Create a cleaning checklist to remind you of the areas that need attention and organisation.

2. ORGANISE AND DECLUTTER
One of the main aspects of “spring cleaning” is to get rid of clutter. It’s best to analyse your belongings and divide them into categories: “throw away”, “donate”, and “keep”.

3. DON’T OVER COMPLICATE YOUR CLEANING PRODUCTS
Keep cleaning products to a minimum to avoid unnecessary clutter. Opt for all-purpose cleaners and micro fibre cloths which work for a majority of surfaces. Purchase specialty cleaners when needed.

4. SEASONAL SCENTS
Nothing says clean more than the smell of a fresh home. If you don’t have time to “deep clean” your furniture opt for a fabric refresher like Febreze and room diffusers.

5. SET A NEW TONE
Spring cleaning is a great time to refresh your space. If your living area is starting to dull, use this time to add new colours or decor.

6. ROTATE YOUR WARDROBE
It’s Spring, which means it’s time to put away your winter woolies and get out your summer glad-rags.
I love spring cleaning. Ever year I find myself getting rid of things I no longer feel like I need. De cluttering is great and I also prefer to work room to room. It helps with time saving.
