Six beauty trends to try this Spring

Spring is finally here, although at times it may not feel like it. Next week lockdown restrictions ease, we can meet people outside, in beer gardens and life might finally start feeling normal again. Lockdown brought with it a year of reimagined fashion and beauty trends, it’s time to welcome back bold colours and fresh skin.

We’ve gone trend hunting and found six of brightest, boldest and most wearable beauty trends for spring 2021.

1. FRECKLES & FAUX FRECKLES

Models walked the ru way at Jason Wu sporting faux freckles and sun-kissed cheeks.

Faux freckles have also taken off on TikTok and can be easily recreated with makeup by dotting on pigment and tapping a Q-tip over the top to blend it out.

2. BOLD COLOURS

When we first started to wear face masks, bold eyes became the hot new trend and the classic cat-eye got a makeover as makeup lovers everywhere switched up their looks from black to vibrant blues, pinks and greens.

This spring, bold lips are back and we’re all excited about it.

3. OUTGOING HAIR COLOURS

Last year during lockdown Brits all over the country stepped outside their comfort zone and began experimenting with their hair colour.

At Collins Strada, technicolour tie-dye wigs were a vital part of the show, meaning this Spring could see the revival of wash-out fantasy hair dyes.

4. SWEPT-BACK SIDE-PARTINGS

Not all of spring’s hair trends have to involve chopping in a new fringe or dying your hair funky colours. Turns out all you have to do is switch your parting from the centre to the side.

Swept-back side-partings were a big part of the S/S21 shows, particularly Chanel and Miu Miu.

5. STRESS RELIEVING SKINCARE

Did you know stress can affect the health of our skin and impact everything from adult acne to eczema? Which is why you need to customise a beauty routine with gentle formulations and specialist treatments to target skin concerns.

6. PETAL TONES

Much like makeup trends this spring, our nails will be seeing a pop of colour with fresh bursts of pastel hues.
