Designer Lotty Bunbury, also known as Lotty B successfully launched her “bed-to-beach” concept in 2020, despite a global pandemic.
Pink House Mustique is a luxury resort and swimwear brand, inspired by and designed on Mustique Island, markets the Lotty B brand alongside its own and commented that “bed-to-beach” was more likely “bed-to-desk” with so many people working from home.
The release of the “whale” print has been joyously received by Pink House Mustique customers. Humpback whales are known to be playful and this Lotty B whale print illustrates the whales dancing in swirling Caribbean waters.
The Bed-to-Beach collection includes a robe, with a simple vest and ruffle topped shorts, all made from weightless crêpe-de-chine silk and beautifully cut to flatter — perfect for bed, breakfast, the beach and evening cocktails.
Lotty B said: “Since I have been designing for my collections, family and friends have given me tips, eg. try a longer style or a different sleeve, or they’ve shown me a piece that they particularly like and of course I take inspiration from these suggestions.”
This is partly how the Bed-to-Beach concept was developed, although insiders will tell you that Lotty B is always thinking of ways to make holiday packing easier.
