The cover shoot is the first time fans have gotten to see her “new look” in full which she’s been teasing on Instagram since March. Trading in her signature neon green and black locks, with baggy clothing for Old Hollywood glamour.
According to Lyst, following the release of the British Vogue cover online searches for corsets have spiked 74%. Similar pink pieces on Lyst saw a 42% jump in searches over the same period while searches for corset dresses increased 15%. Meanwhile, catsuits also rose in popularity with “lace” and “vinyl” among the most popular search terms.
Eilish was previously known for choosing clothes that hid her shape – a fashion choice she said was intended to prevent other people from body shaming her. Her new image, in relation to her upcoming album “Happier Than Ever” marks a new era, ditching the oversized shirts and baggy pants for form-fitting silhouettes, confronting those who may dare to shame her, saying: “My thing is that I can do whatever I want.”
