Nine effective ways to boost your energy levels

Are you tired of feeling tired? Fed up of always feel as if you never have enough energy and waking up just as drained as when you went to bed.

Well, there are ways to improve your energy levels and we’re going to share some of the easiest ways with you right now, so you can find that spring in your step again.

1. TAKE A BREAK

Constant distractions rob us of our mental energy. Just 30 minutes without mental stimulation will allow your brain to focus and overcome fatigue.

2. INCREASE MAGNESIUM INTAKE

Studies suggest women with magnesium deficiencies had higher heart rates and required more oxygen to do physical tasks – overall, their bodies were working harder.

The recommended daily intake of magnesium is around 300 milligrams for women and 350 milligrams for men.

3. EAT FOODS HIGH IN ENERGY

There are so many foods high in energy and many can be worked into your daily diet:

  • Bananas
  • Apples
  • Strawberries
  • Chia Seeds
  • Tuna and Salmon
  • Sweet Potatoes

4. LOOK AWAY FROM YOUR COMPUTER

Staring at a computer screen for too long can cause eye fatigue, which eventually can cause headaches, dizziness, and overall exhaustion.

Try and have regular breaks away from your computer screen, and that includes your phone.

5. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Some studies suggest that physical activity increases energy. While the idea of moving around when you feel tired sounds exhausting being outdoors for at least 20 minutes a day can boost your energy.

6. CONSUME DRINKS HIGH IN ENERGY

As well as food, there are also drinks high in energy:

  • Water
  • Green Tea and Matcha
  • Coffee (with milk for added protein)

7. DRINK MORE WATER

You may know that thirst can often be mistaken for hunger. Did you know, that thirst can also be mistaken for fatigue? Sometimes even slight dehydration can make us feel tired, this is why it’s so important to stay hydrated during physical activity.

8. EAT MORE WHOLE GRAINS AND LESS SUGAR

The important thing here is to keep your blood sugar levels balanced and constant.

When we eat sweet food, our blood sugar spikes and we get a surge of energy that is then followed by a rapid drop in blood sugar which leaves us feeling drained.

9. VITAMINS AND MINERALS

There are also vitamins and supplements you can add to your diet:
