Design your own hot chocolate bar

We’re huge hot chocolate fans, especially at Christmas. There is nothing like sitting down with a festive cup of joy that just warms you from the inside out.

It’s perfect for the festive season and one thing that’s been gaining steam and always looks amazing are hot chocolate bars — and the best thing about a hot chocolate bar is that you can customise them with your favourite treats and flavours.

Find an easy, homemade hot chocolate recipe by Celebrating Sweets here.

Hit chocolate bars don’t need a whole lot of fancy equipment. When it comes to display, you can really use your imagination.

A few things to consider are a serving tray, bowls or mason jars and cutlery.

Topping you might want to for your hot chocolate bar:

  • Marshmallows or mini marshmallows
  • Sprinkle of cocoa powder, ground cinnamon or nutmeg
  • Toffee bits or fudge pieces
  • Gingerbread cookies
  • Lindt Lindor Milk Chocolate Truffles
  • Chocolate chips
  • Crushed peppermints or candy canes
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Mini chocolate chip cookies
  • White chocolate shavings
  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Caramel sauce

Finally no hot chocolate bar is complete without a sign. This can be a peg board, chalk board or old-fashioned pen and paper. However if you’re feeling fancy you can get one professionally printed and Etsy supplies a variety at the click of a button.

However, the most important part of a hot chocolate bar is to have FUN with it, be creative and get the whole family involved.

Merry Christmas!
